Erika (the mom) had so many things planned. She had a Care Bear theme for the party including invitations, table cloth, plates, napkins, cake, party favors, gift bags full of goodies, and even a Care Bear pinata. The kids started off with pizza, goldfish, graham cracker "bees", veggies and dip and apple juice. Then came the huge Care Bear cake with ice cream. The kids scarfed it down.
After Sophie opened her presents they successfully managed to break into the pinata. This was a non-hitting pinata. I had never seen one of these before. You have each child pull a string on the bottom. One string is connected to the opening and then the candy falls out. Brownie points go to whoever invented these! Mommies don't have to worry about their children slugging another in the face with a stick on accident.
The Grays had a pool set up in their backyard as well as a sprinkler. Shaylen got in and out of the pool and also drove their mini-tractor around the backyard. Marshall mostly played the role of spectator. Eventually he did get into the pool but quickly got out after getting his bum wet. I think he was just taking it all in.
It was a beautiful day for a party and the kids had a memorable time.
