And who wouldn't love watching The Blue Angels. They were an awesome conclusion to a great day!
I am so excited to post about something we've been eager to see for three years: The Boston Portsmouth Air Show. We first learned of the air show shortly after we came down to New Hampshire. We had just missed it. That was disappointing, but we knew it was going to be coming back this year.
Newspapers put out special inserts and wrote up articles so that we knew what to expect. I would read these articles to the kids and show them all of the pictures. They were counting down the days. Any plane that flew over our house for months in advance was scrutinized because, after all, it might be a plane practicing for the airshow.

This could turn into a very long post if I talked about each and every demonstration, so I'm going to just urge you to click on the link at the top of this post and check it all out on the website. We all had different favorites though. Marshall loved the stunt planes, Shaylen loved going into the large tanker, Taigen & and I loved the fighter jet demonstrations (especially the Blue Angels). It was a long day, and we came home sun-baked and exhausted, but it was so worth it.
I'm officially out of a job. What normally took me a very l-o-n-g and emotionally draining time to accomplish, my husband was able to get done in less than five minutes. There were no tears, no sweat and hardly any fuss. Yes, folks. I am no longer going to be the tooth puller. It simply isn't worth it when we have a much more capable person for the job. Maybe it's because he is a no-monkey business kind of guy, whereas I'm more emotional, wanting to numb it, wanting to explain the next step, drying the tears, blah, blah, blah. Regardless, Marshall went up after dinner, opened his mouth and with two pulls, the last bulging front tooth (Lost Tooth #7) was out.
Our last night up north proved to be pretty eventful. The kids got their jammies on and were getting their beds ready in the loft when Marshall came down the ladder whimpering. I said, "What's the matter, Bud?" He opened his mouth and I instantly knew he had bonked his two front teeth. It was all bloody. I took one feel of his tooth and realized it had to come out that night. It was just dangling there. This is always the worst part (and Marshall truly HATES it), but I didn't have any burritos or macaroni and cheese to do the job. After much convincing by me to no avail, Taigen finally did the job (for which I am truly thankful). It took one little tweak and the thing was out. One more big front tooth to go (literally)and he'll be looking a little less jack-o-lanterny. Six down and out...how many more to go?

I loved the cottage's back porch. There was a long row of rocking chairs and a railing that was perfect for putting your feet up and staring at the ocean view. 
We enjoyed the many opportunities to go down and walk the coast at low tide. 
The deck had a wonderful seating area and a fire pit. What's a fire pit without roasting marshmallows and making s'mores? 
Our friend, Bill, offered to take the kids on a boat ride. They jumped at the opportunity!
Of course I had to snap up a few shots of the cutest kids on earth.
We can now turn our attention to the summer reading program at our local library. I'm thankful this one isn't a competition and we can write down the ones we've already read so far this summer. Whew.
