Sugarin' Party at the Gauthiers

Today was the day for the Annual Sugarin' Party at the Gauthier home. We always look forward to this time of chatting, eating, playing, and good, down home fun. The kids donned their snow pants, gloves, boots, scarves and hats and were able to romp in the snow pretty much all day.

We were able to spend time with not only a lot of the church family, but also many of the Gauthiers' neighbors, relatives, friends and even the toll booth worker from their normal commute home from church!

I think the highlight of the day was when the Gauthier's put fresh snow in a special trough, poured hot maple syrup onto it, and allowed us to grab some with popsicle sticks. It hardens up like taffy and tastes tremendous! Reminded me of the Little House on the Prairie stories.

We always have such a great time. Wish you all could come and experience maple sugarin' with us! It's a treat.
