One of their favorite things to do is play with their stuffed animals. They like to load up all of the larger vehicles with the stuffed animals, line up all the couch pillows into "roads," and then make a large caravan. The caravan then goes through all of the house while they make up different scenarios to with them.
Shaylen will say something like, "...and Baby Snoopy didn't realize that Baby Bongo was hopelessly lost and following him very closely!" And Marshall will say something like, "Lil' Small Wee Bear gasped in astonishment that the bridge was gone and they were ready to fall down into the river!"
It's funny to hear snippets of their audiobooks make their way into their conversations, imaginations and free time. What a fun age!

Sounds very much like what I hear at my house! Adelyn LOVES audiobooks--can you pass along some recommendations?
Cherith
Cherith! It is SO good to hear from you. Congrats go to Eric for his new position. We're hearing great things about him. (As if we didn't know!)
I would love to recommend the ones that Marshall and Shaylen have listened to (and have in their collection).
Classical Kids CD's (I think we have them all. Some were their favorites and some we didn't care for as much)
*Mr. Bach Comes to Call
*Mr. Beethoven Lives Upstairs
*Tchaikovsky Discovers America
*Hallelujah Handel
Focus on the Family has a GREAT series out with:
Little Women
The Secret Garden
Anne of Green Gables
These are dramatized, not read and are very good. No raunchy music. :)
Sarah Plain and Tall Series (read by Glenn Close) This includes Sarah Plain and Tall, Skylark and Caleb's Story
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory read by Eric Idle
Mary Poppins read by Sophie Thompson
Charlotte's Web read by E.B. White (he makes a GREAT Templeton)
Little House on the Prairie
Little House in the Big Woods
read by Cherry Jones
(this is currently their FAVORITE and they listen to it constantly)
That's all I can think of at present. I'm thinking there are more.
Hope this helps!
This reminds of Isaiah. Except he likes to line up all his tractor and pretend he is at a tractor show. One of Isaiah and Hannah's favorites is Down Gilead Lane by the Children's Bible Hour. He also enjoys Anne of Green Gables. I am in the process of picking up the Secret Garden.
My kids have loved audio books for years Crystal. They still love them. Others that are very good are the Narnia series put out by Focus on the Family.
Blessings, Jen
Jen, Thanks for the recommendation. My sister also has that one and said it's really good. Her hesitation was that it was slightly scary, so maybe in a few years we can pull it out.
Wendy, you should take a picture of Isaiah with the tractors. I would love to see it.
